Today, we enjoyed a locally-grown farmers' market that recently opened in our community. Yee-Haw!
The sun shines here most of the time. In fact, the summers are almost too hot for anything to survive. Winter is a great time for having a garden! (Backwards... I know. I'm still adjusting.) I can hardly believe that it has taken this long to have a farmers' market here! I mean, it's not a new concept! Right?!!
It was a small market, but it was the thought that counts. I'm sure that it will grow! Please!
Here is Alexander watching a pecan being shelled. Very cool pecan cracker! (I'll take one, please.)
Alexander buying 3 bunches of carrots. This is his new favorite snack. When he asked for some carrots I was quick to say 'yes', because I knew he'd be gulping down some of those vitamin packed jewels before we got to the car! I'll take any opportunity to get vegetables into my kids!
Receiving a spoonful of local honey. Yummmmmm!
And they both returned home with their own bottle of honey. (Thanks to Grandma!)
